It's Your Special Day - Another Teddy Bo and Co Card

OK, it's time for a "Just Because" card and this is another Teddy Bo image, if you've been following my blog recently you'll know how much I love these images!
This one is a Valentines image but I think it works just as well for a Birthday Card too.
I love the blue and brown color combination, it lends itself so well towards the Vintage/Shabby Chic style and I'm really enjoying creating in that style at the moment.
Tomorrows project is also in this style so if you like it be sure to come back.
Also maybe now is the time to add yourself as a follower as I have just passed 90000 hits and am approaching 400 followers so it could be time for some blog candy!

I printed and colored 3 copies of the image and decoupaged the finished piece to give lots of definition. I distressed the edges of the mats and added chalk ink to enhance it even more. I even inked the antique style lace to add to the shabby chic style. Although this is a "cute" image I do think that it lends itself to the vintage feel that is so popular right now.
I absolutely love this line of images of can't wait to see all the new ones they keep coming out with.
If you like this card be sure to check back on Wednesday for another Teddy Bo card :)

A Vintage Garden Mini Album - A Little change of direction

Today I want to share a mini album I made.
Before I made cards I was a scrapbooker and have over 20 completed albums made over the years.
But I also liked to dabble in mini albums and altering items and I think that is where the transition into card making started.
Every now and again I like to take a break from cards and go back to playing with books :)

Flower Punch - EK Success
Flower Die Cut - Big Shot
Sentiment Stickers - K and Co

I've had the giant clothespin for years, they were very popular "back in the day" and I still like them for a quirky piece of home decor.
The flowers are a mixture of punches, die cuts and rosette flowers (with punched edges for a much more frilly look).
I took the pin apart and painted it first and then added the paper on top. The flowers are on stems made of cardstock and then "arranged" and glued on to a piece of chipboard then fits just inside the closed part of the pin. This makes it so much easier to display as they flowers don't fall out of the bunch!
Anyway I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day yesterday, keep the love in your heart!
And take a break for the norm and make something other than a card for us over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar
